Komodo & Flores tour 9 days & 8 nights
Day 1: Jakarta/Bali – Labuan Bajo – Surroundings
Arriving at Komodo Labuan Bajo international airport (West Manggarai regency), our representative team will pick you up and take you to one of the best restaurants in Labuan Bajo for lunch. After lunch you will visit Mirror Cave, the largest cave on the island of Flores, with a giant shape and beautiful passages. There are stalagtais and stalagmites in the cave, with the interior surviving like a coral. After visiting Mirror cave, you will transfer to the hotel. After that, you will continue your journey across the most beautiful hill called Sylvia Hill-Top view, to enjoy the sunset, while seeing views of several rows of islands and the city of Labuan Bajo. After that you will drive to a restaurant for dinner, and return to the hotel for accommodation.
Day 2: Labuan Bajo – Padar Island – Komodo Island – Pink Beach – Manta Point – Taka Makasar – Kanawa Island
In the morning after breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel. You will transfer to the port to get a boat cruise through Komodo National Park. The first place you will visit is Padar Island, you will do trekking activities to see the amazing panorama above the peak of Padar Island. You will present with views of several white and pink sand beaches back-to-back, and you will proceed sailing to Pink Beach. The activities you can do there are swimming at the beach to see the beauty of the sea with coral reefs and various types of fish and also relaxing on the beach. After leaving from Pink Beach, you will sailing to Komodo Island, locally called (Loh Liang), the natural habitat of Komodo Varianus Komodo Densis or Komdo Dragons. The activity you will do is trekking through the forest to see Komodo dragons and other wildlife such as deer, monkeys, buffalo, horses, black pigs, and various types of birds and endemic trees. After spending time on Komodo Island, you continue sailing to Taka Makasar, one of the most beautiful beaches in Komodo National Park, where a white sand beach appears in the middle of the sea surface. The activities you can do there are swimming to see the marine park, and relaxing on the white sand beach. After that, continue to Manta Point, there you will snorkel and swim to see schools of stingrays enjoying marine life, and various types of fish and coral reefs. After seeing the stingrays, you will sail to Kanawa Island. There you will do swimming activities and relax on the beach while enjoying the sunset. After that, you will sail back to Labuan Bajo, and transfer to the restaurant for dinner and go to the hotel for accommodation.
Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Todo Village – Cancar – Ruteng Town – Surroundings
In the morning after breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel. You will travel along the island of Flores to Ruteng (central of Manggarai regency) by car. You will enjoy the tropical rainforests of Flores with long rows of mountains and hillsides and valleys, as well as the activities of local communities. An adrenaline-challenging tour, because the road conditions are winding and going up and down mountains. On the way you will see the largest and widest rice fields on the island of Flores called “Lembor Rice Fields”. The first place you will visit before arriving in Ruteng is the Todo traditional village. This village is very famous in Flores, because of its history and legendary stories. Todo Village was a kingdom that controlled Manggarai in ancient times before independence. There you will see a series of Manggarai traditional house architecture that still maintains its originality, which is round and conical like a primada, and you can also see a drum made from women’s skin called “Loke Ngerang”. Right after living the village, you will continue to the next destination to Cancar village, in Cancar village you will see vast rice fields designed exactly like a spider’s web from a height. This spider web philosophy is closely related to the cone-shaped design of the Todo traditional house. After enjoying the view of the spider-web rice fields. You drive straight to Ruteng for dinner & accommodation.
Day 4: Ruteng – Bena village – Bajawa
After breakfast at the hotel, you will continue drive to the east of the island of Flores to Bajawa (Ngada regency). On the way you will enjoy views of mountains and dense forests and beautiful landscapes. You will stop by to see the lake called “Rana Mese” one of the second largest lakes in Flores which is located right in the middle of the tropical rain forest of Flores, you will get fresh air and views of the green forest there. After that, continue to Borong (east Manggarai regency). Drive to Aimere, and a few stops at the place where the traditional Florene’s drink is made called “Arak” which is made from palm palm trees, and processed traditionally. After that, you will proceed to drive to the prototype of an ancient Bena traditional village, you will see the splendor of the original ancient buildings in large numbers occupied by Bena residents. You can also see the way of locals which are unique and the houses and traditional ceremonies. And proceed to Bajawa for dinner & overnight.
Day 5: Bajawa – Soa – Riung
In the morning after breakfast, you will continue to discover Flores heading east to Riung. You will stop in Soa, to swim and enjoy Soa’s hot water, with a high sulfur content to treat your tiredness from traveling the previous few days. If you have a skin disease, this is the best opportunity for you to treat it, because sulfur can treat skin pain or infections. After the Soa hot springs, you continue to drive towards Riung, with its natural Flores landscape of savanna and forest and mountains. Your dinner and accommodation in Riung.
Day 6: Full Day Tour to Riung Marine Park
In the morning after breakfast, you will transfer to the harbour to get a small wooden boat to Riung Marine Park of seventeen islands. You will see small and large groups of islands. They are like: Pau Island, Borong, Besar, Halima, Patta, Rutong, Meja, Tembaga, Taor, Sui, Tire, Pau, Besar, Lainjawa, Kolong, and to other islands. You will explore the small islands by boat. The activities you can do there are soft trekking, snorkelling and swimming in a very clean and beautiful beaches and relaxing on white sand beaches. After that, in the afternoon you will return to Riung for dinner & accommodation.
Day 7: Riung – Ende – Moni
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Ende (Ende regency). You will enjoy beautiful views on the way such as mountains and savannah as well as local community activities. Walking on the coast for dozens of kilometres enjoying views of the ocean and beautiful, clean coastline, you will take the brakes for the same stop to the beautiful spot chosen at Panga Panda beach or Blue Stone beach. After that, you will immediately drive to Moni, the closest place to trekking to Kelimutu National Park. You will stay overnight and have dinner there.
Day 8: Moni – Kelimutu Lake – Maumere
In the morning around 04.30 WIB. You will leave early for trekking to Kelimutu National Park. You will drive by car to the first post before the trekking zone. Trekking for about half an hour you can see the colourful lake of Kelimutu as one of the most mysterious and dramatic views in Indonesia that you may find at the top of Kelimutu. What is unique and spectacular are the three crater lakes with their own colors where there are mystical stories with the local residents there. After spending time at the top of Mount Kelimutu, you will descend and go straight to Moni for breakfast and packing. After that, go straight to Maumere (Sika Regency). In Mamere you will visit the Ledalero museum to see ethnological objects from the area (Ledalero is the name of the Catholic seminary that formed the Florinese Imams. You will know the historical origins of the entry and spread of Catholicism in the island of Flores.
Day 9: City Tour or Hotel – Airport (Transfer-Out)
In the last day, you will visit several spiritual sites and a city tour (depending on your departure time (flights back) to Bali/Jakarta/similar.
