Flores & Komodo Tour 8 Days & 7 Nights

Day 1: Jakarta / Bali – Maumere – Ende – Moni

Welcome to the island of Flores. Arriving at Frans Seda Maumere airport, you will be picked up by a representative (team) of Prime Flores Tour, and immediately drive to one of the sites called Ledalero. Ledalero is a gathering place for books and equipment from the founding fathers of the nation. Ledalero is also the name of the high school that produces Catholic priests from Flores. After that, continue your tour to Sikka village, in Sika you will see the process of making cloth called Ika Weaving, one of the handicrafts of the Flores people, namely making cloth traditionally, as well as making colors from trees traditionally. This means that the fabric and dyes are original Flores products. Florenese local wisdom has many motifs and contains a moral message for the Florenese people. After that, continue your tour to Ende, and continue to Moni for dinner and lodging.

Day 2: Moni – Kelimutu – Riung

In the morning, you will drive to the gate of Kelimutu National Park or the first post before you trekking up to the jungle of Kelimutu National Park. From the gate, you will walk for about 40 minutes to the peak of Kelimutu, on the way you will feel the fresh air in the morning, as well as the very interesting chirping of birds. When you reach the top, you will be presented with three lakes with different colours (black/grey, red, blue), while enjoying the sunrise and fresh breeze above the peak. This three-coloured lake is a volcanic lake resulting from an eruption hundreds of years ago which has mystical ties to the local residents there. You will see a series of mountains from the top. After spending time at the top of the mountain in Kelimutu National Park, you will trek down, and drive back to Moni. After that, continue your tour to Riung, you will stop at Nanga Panda or at Blue Stone beach. Along the journey from Ende to Riung, you will be presented with very beautiful and beautiful views of the mountains and savannah, as well as local people along the way. Dinner and overnight in Riung.

Day 3: Fullday Tour Riung Marine Park

In the morning, you will drive to the harbour to get a small wooden boat to Riung mrine park of seventeen islands. You will see small and large groups of islands. They are like: Pau Island, Borong, Besar, Halima, Patta, Rutong, Meja, Tembaga, Taor, Sui, Tire, Pau, Besar, Lainjawa, Kolong, and to other islands. You will explore the small islands by boat. The activities you can do there are soft trekking, snorkelling and swimming in the clean and beautiful beach and relaxing on the white sand beach. After that, in the afternoon you will return to Riung for accommodation and dinner.

Day 4: Riung – Soa – Bajawa – Surroundings

After breakfast at the hotel, you continue your tour to Soa hot spring. You will stop at Soa, to swim and enjoy Soa’s hot water, with a high sulfur content to treat your tiredness from traveling the previous few days. If you have a skin disease, this is the best opportunity for you to treat it, because sulfur can treat skin pain or infections. After bathing in the hot springs of Soa, continue your tour to Bajawa, along the way you will enjoy views of mountains and savannah hills, as well as the activities of local people who are busy farming and raising livestock. Arriving at Bajawa, check in and take a tour around the city of Bajawa. Dinner and stay overnight in Bajawa.

Day 5: Bajawa – Bena Village – Ruteng – Surroundings

In the morning, you drive straight to the traditional village of Bena. The Bena traditional village is a prototype of the ancient Ngada village. Arriving in Bena, you will be presented with the local way of life with a series of very unique Bena traditional houses with mystical and legendary stories. After visiting Bena, continue the journey to Aimere to see the traditional process of making arak, which is taken from palm trees. Arak became a typical Florense drink, and became the drink of brotherhood and the pinnacle of Florense civilization. Continue the journey to Ruteng. You will stop at Lake Rana Mese, a large lake in the middle of a very dense tropical rainforest. Arriving in Ruteng, you will immediately check in and go on a city tour visiting the Ruteng Pu’u traditional village. a village located 3.5 KM from the city, which has a unique history of the royal representative system in Manggarai before it became the centre of independence (republican system). Dinner and overnight in Ruteng.

Day 6: Ruteng –Liang Bua Cave – Cancar – Labuan Bajo

After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Liang Bua cave. One of the historical sites in Flores, a cave occupied by prehistoric humans locally called “Homo Florensis” who lived thousands of years ago once lived on Flores, namely in Liang Bua. You will find prehistoric human bones that are 105 cm long and bones from ancient animals that once lived there. After that, you will drive to Cancar, to see expanses of rice fields that are shaped exactly like spider-webs. This spider-web like farm is a very unique division of Manggarai people’s land which has dimensions of unity and harmony, and the design of this spider web shaped rice field is related to the design of traditional Manggarai houses as you saw in Ruteng Pu’u previously. After that, you continue your trip to Labuan Bajo, the western tip of Flores Island. On the way, you will enjoy the natural views of Flores, which are endlessly unique and splendid. You will see the largest rice fields in Flores called “Sawah Lembor”, rice fields which are the basis of life for all Flores people. Continue to Labuan Bajo for dinner and accommodation.

Day 7: Padar Island – Pink Beach – Komodo Island – Taka Makasar – Manta Point – Kanawa Island

In the morning, you will transfer to the harbour to get a boat cruise through Komodo National Park. The first place you will visit is Padar Island, you will do trekking activities to see the amazing panorama above the peak of Padar Island. You will be presented with the views of several white and pink sand beaches back-to-back. After capturing the beautiful moments there, you will proceed sailing to Pink Beach. The activities you can do there are swimming in the beach to see the beauty of the sea with coral reefs and various types of fish and also relaxing on the beach. After leaving Pink Beach, you will sailing to Komodo Island, locally called (Loh Lian), the natural habitat of Komodo Varianus Komodo Densis or Komdo Dragons. The activity you will do is trekking through the forest to see Komodo dragons and other wildlife such as deer, monkeys, buffalo, horses, black pigs, and various types of birds and endemic trees. After spending time in Komodo Island, you continue sailing to Taka Makasar, one of the most beautiful beaches in Komodo National Park, where the white sand beach appears in the middle of the sea surface. The activities you can do there are swimming to see the marine park, and taking photos and relaxing on the white sand beach. After that, continue to Manta Point, you will snorkel and swim to see schools of stingrays enjoying marine life, and various types of fish and coral reefs. After seeing the stingrays, you will sailing to Kanawa Island. You will do swimming activities and relax on the beach while enjoying the sunset. After that, you will sailing back to Labuan Bajo, for accommodation.

Day 8: Labuan Bajo – Bali / Jakarta

In the morning, you will visit Rangko cave, one of the most unique caves in Labuan Bajo. This cave located on the edge of the sea has a crystal-like shape with very unique stalactites and stalagmites and a very clean water. Swimming is the most recommended activity in this place. After visiting Rangko, return to Labuan Bajo and you will transfer to one of the shopping places for souvenirs. After that, immediately transfer out to Komodo airport for flight back to Bali/Jakarta/similar.
